IATC Homecoming Axe Market 2025

As part of the 2025 International Axe Throwing Championship, near Toronto in Pickering, Ontario - Roarockit was in attendance on Sunday at the Homecoming Axe Market. It was a beautiful bright sunny day, and the crowds were colourful! This event is a special day for axe and knife throwers, as it attracts many top competitors from around the world, and this was no exception. We’ve heard it described as the “prom” of axe throwing!

Roarockit offered special colour-veneer packs, kits and give-aways. Our table was well attended, including visitors from around the world, Australia, UK, US, and other provinces of Canada. We had a great time meeting all of the amazing makers and competitors!

Many of our axe-maker friends displayed their custom-made axe handles. Our coloured maple veneer was clearly a big feature in many of the handles. Designs were intricately laced with curves, book-matched layers, and interesting patterns, mixed in with plain maple or other woods. We saw some very creative woodworking, and a ton of these axes were bought by appreciative customers.

It was a well-organized event, with bracketed matches going on all day. The inside venue was always packed, but we didn’t miss any of the action as the live streaming was shown outside in multiple large tents, with plenty of seating. A large group of volunteers made sure the event ran smoothly and we all had what we needed. Many food trucks were on hand, as well as a delicious smoked BBQ group, that had been prepping all night long for the event. Delicious!!

We were delighted to discover the feel-good community of vibes that is the hallmark of the IATF events. Thanks to the organizers for inviting us to share the good times!
