Applying the right amount of glue is super-important to making a good skateboard

The focus of this tutorial is to elaborate on parts of the process that are specific to building a drop deck that includes bamboo.

This tutorial covers one of the easiest and most effective methods for creating art on skateboards. 

Bamboo = Flex... and not just flex, but a crazy amount of 'springback' which gives it a unique feel while riding. The ability to mix and match maple, bamboo and even birch (the lightest of the three) veneer in a deck's construction is going to open up the possibilities for our building community.

In this tutorial we will show you the steps to completing your custom made skateboard deck after it has dried for at least 8 hours in the Thin Air Press vacuum bag. 

If you are not familiar, Drop through trucks will allow your baseplate to be mounted to the top side of your board, which brings the standing platform on your deck closer to the ground. Similar to a Drop Deck, being closer to the ground will help provide stability and make it easier to push.

Many times over the years we have been asked how to make a longboard that is longer than the 48" veneers we sell at Roarockit. This tutorial on making a 55" Dancer shows how to edge-join veneer to make a board as long as you like.

This first deck in the series is a very unique double drop deck (1" drop deck with drop through truck mounting) that we created to show off four unique graphic applications. 

This tutorial is an extension of our 55" Longboard Dancer tutorial where we demonstrated the process involved with laminating a board longer than the standard 48" long skateboard veneers. In that tutorial you may have noticed that the top side of the deck had a unique grip tape pattern... well, this is how we did it!
