The opening event included well-known Toronto artists M. Falconer and Malcom live painting one-of-a-kind skateboards made with Roarockit technology by Pure Longboards at LUMAS Gallery, along with a nearby skate park demo with young skaters from Impact Skateboard Club on a temporary quarter-pipe installation created by Ramp to Rail.

We are so happy to have had the opportunity to help sponsor this incredible event with proceeds going to Skateistan and other charities supported by The Skateroom.

For the past 10 years Malcolm-Emilio has consistently created work that inspires new perspectives on how to communicate and navigate in diverse cultural landscapes.

Using references from personal travel studies to create a language that can speak to the world, mainly using paint, sculpture, and interactive installations, to create spaces that allow access to lucid time travel. The intention of the work is to provide a sensory activation of the mind, body & soul that regenerates genetic memory and replenishes our visions of origin!

Using various mediums to intuitively express the many different ways that humanity can coexist and collectively move forward in ways that are more conducive to the survival of the planet.

M. Falconer, is a Toronto based self-taught visual artist. Her work is strongly influenced by Black culture and Black pop culture in North America as they represent the forms of culture she identifies with the most. Her paintings foster a sense of self-love, empowerment and self-expression. She describes her style as « Black Pop Art » due to her use of a bold and unconventional color palette. Her mission is to use art to empower people of color and to represent the culture.

Melissa has had the opportunity to exhibit in various locations in Canada, including at the Art Gallery of Ontario and Nuit Blanche, and has been commissioned for various projects with media households such as FLARE, the HuffPost and CBC/Radio-Canada among others.
